70-51

Matt Garza wasn't particularly impressive, giving up two home runs to Juan Francisco, nor was the baserunning early on, as A.J. Pierzynski gave up an out on the bases right after Elvis Andrus was caught stealing.

In the end, the Rangers bullpen was simply better than Milwaukee's, and Craig Gentry, Jurickson Profar, and Jeff Baker were just patient enough to walk in sequence, which in turn led to Elvis Andrus and Ian Kinsler coming through big and delivering a decisive blow to give the Rangers a 5-4 victory.

In particular, Elvis Andrus seems fairly comfortable at the plate as of late, and his approach paid off tonight with 2 RBI.

Furthermore, Leonys Martin gunned down two runners at third base, possibly limiting any more damage on Matt Garza's tab. If you need a reason as to why Martin has remained in center field lately when Craig Gentry enters the game, you need look no further than plays like that.

Texas will have tomorrow off before welcoming the Seattle Mariners to Arlington for a weekend series.

Update: And just like that, the Rangers are now 2.0 games up in the AL West as Oakland has lost to the Houston Astros for a second straight game.
