The Rangers threatened late, but it was too little, too late. The Rockies scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning and never looked back.
Martin Perez struggled for the 2nd outing in a row, and say what you want about the atmosphere in Denver and its conduciveness for the long ball, but when you give up 4 runs off of home runs, it doesn't much matter which park you're pitching in.
Perez only managed to make it through 5 innings on 95 pitches, and over the past week, the bullpen has been used probably a bit more than you would like. Hopefully the starting rotation can begin going deep into games again, because we certainly don't want to have a situation in which the entire bullpen is gassed by the end of May, as it could make for a long summer in the late innings with the Texas heat.
Also, National League ball is garbage. Pitchers shouldn't be hitting. It's embarrassing to watch.
