The Rangers are 1-1

The starting rotation has been something of a concern coming into the season. For many, it's caused predictions of something resembling a 70-win ball club. Regardless, Colby Lewis went out tonight and pitched 6.0 strong innings, allowing only 1 run on 3 hits as he kept Oakland hitters mostly off-balance.

Prince Fielder drove in 2 runs on the night, looking more comfortable at the plate than I can recall at any point last season.

Keone Kela made is Major League debut. After a rough start to the bottom of the 7th inning with 2 hits and a walk allowed, Kela settled down nicely and held the 3-1 lead. From there, Shawn Tolleson and Neftali Feliz were able to finish things off despite Elvis Andrus committing his 2nd error in as many nights.

The Rangers got a win on Adrian's birthday. Happy birthday, Adrian Beltre. Stay young forever.
