Adrian Beltre, Rangers Agree to Contract Extension

Well, after weeks of speculation, and after it looked as if the Rangers just might let Adrian Beltre test the market after this season, T.R. Sullivan has given us a fantastic piece of news this evening.

Per Sullivan, the deal is for 2 years at $18 million a year. It's less than the reported 3-year, $19-20 million per year he was seeking, so overall, this has to be considered a win for the Texas front office. Furthermore, it means that Beltre sacrificed a little financially in order to likely finish his career in Texas.

In celebration, enjoy a GIF of Beltre having some fun in last night's game.
