And once again, with a chance to tie things up atop the division, the Rangers fail to execute. Another ineffective night from Andrus and Murphy, poor situational hitting with runners in scoring position, two more double plays grounded into, and a pretty good overall outing from Ross Wolf, who made two mistakes in his spot start. Unfortunately, both cleared the outfield fence and proved to be the difference.

You certainly can't win them all, and Baltimore is a great defensive team, but it's nonetheless disheartening to see the offense sputter in crucial moments. Just when you think you have it all figured out and assume pitching is the problem, this team turns around and surprises you with a solid pitching performance and fail to show up on offense.

The silver lining? Mitch Moreland had a 3-for-4 night. His bat has been sorely missed and if he can come around, the Rangers will be a better team for it.
